Travel & Accommodation

Traveling

- Nancy is easily accessible by train. It takes 95 minutes to get to the city center from Paris. The main station is in the city center, within walking distance of the conference site. Note that there is another train station (Lorraine TGV) between Metz and Nancy, connected to other cities and to Charles de Gaulle airport. For each train arriving at and departing from this station, there is a shuttle to or from Nancy.

- There is also a small airport in between Metz and Nancy, close to Lorraine TGV station and connected with the same shuttle. If you arrive in Paris by train, it is generally much easier to go by train from Paris or Charles de Gaulle.

- For public transportation, this is the site: https://www.reseau-stan.com/, but note that a trolley is being built, and things are somewhat messy across the streets as far as public transportation is concerned. However, access to the HSS campus by bus is now possible again.

Accommodation

We do not have specific recommendations concerning boarding.

There are quite a few different hotels in Nancy. Most of them are within walking distance of the conference venue and not far from the central station and city center, where you may find many restaurants and cafés.

Globally, Nancy is not an expensive city, so it is possible to find rooms for a reasonable price on dedicated sites.

Food, shopping, and sightseeing

It is also possible to find various supermarkets in the city center if you need to buy some food, and, naturally, many bakeries are present across the streets (but not that many around the campus).

Note that the town and area have a rich history and the city center (around place Stanislas) is really worth the visit. Lunéville and Metz are also nice places to go to.
